What is food politics? It is a struggle over
how the losses and gains from state action are allocated in the food and
farming sector. It is different from other kinds of politics because of the way
food and farming sectors change as each state struggle to make its own
transition from being primarily agricultural and poor to being increasingly
industrial and less poor and eventually to being largely postindustrial and wealthy.
Recently, we have big problem abut food. The power of population is so superior
to the power of the earth to produce subsistence for man, which means the
amount of food lack of people in the world. In Africa, the number of undernourished
people will increase another 30 percent by 2020 to reach 645 million. This is
summary from 1 to 16 pases.
I'm interested in knowing how much of what you're learning in the book applies to the food situation in Japan. It sounds like the book is mainly centered on American food politics.Do you think it's relevant to Japan at all?

It's pretty common knowledge that population growth will eventually outstrip the world's capacity to grow food, but the real question is "What's the best way to cope with it and avoid what seems to be inevitable for as long as possible?"
